A Race in the Rain

We had a surprise rain storm a couple weeks ago and it was great! It cooled us off and I just love the rain. Our family decided to see who could race to the fence and back in the rain.

Jacee was in! She didn't hesitate and I think she was the fastest.

Jack was a little reluctant - but once he put on his swim suit he was good to go.

You can't get your clothes wet you know! (The rain storm didn't last long but he was in his suit the rest of the night!

Daddy was actually the first to brave the weather.

All I can say is, he sure looked good doing it! Glad we have a fun daddy who will do kooky things with the kids!

First Day of School

Could she be any more excited?

At the bus stop with her best friend.

At least I still have these two raggy-muffins at home. And yes, they are still in their pj's and playing outside. The joys of being little!

My Little Entrepaneur

Jacee has been begging me all summer to do a lemonade stand - so I finally relented and off she went! I of course wanted to make a cute sign on the computer, but no, she wanted to handle everything herself. She made flyers and distributed them around the neighborhood. I thought they turned out pretty great. She hauled her little table out to the road, got the muffin tin to put her coins in, found the dixie cups under the bathroom sink, and made the lemonade. Well, I made her taste test it first and after she did that, she did let me help make another pitcher. (She just put in a spoonful of suger - afterall - if that's good enough for Mary Poppins, who is she to change it!)

She got a handful of customers and had a great time. She did spend all her earnings when the icecream truck came around. She bought one for her and a friend. We don't buy anything from the icecream man - EVER - so when I told her she could spend her own money...she did!

Tomorrow, we are making cupcakes for a cupcake stand she wants to put up after school. We think it will go pretty well. Her big dream is to buy a cotton candy machine. She thinks that will be a big seller! (I think she has a little bit of Uncle Steve in her!)

Sure do love ya Sis!

My Little Artist

Here is some original artwork by my eldest. I of course love everything she does, but I think it's extra special when she says something nice about me. I'm going to save this to look at during her teenage years - just in case...

She's Coming Home!

Boy this has been the LOOONGEST week ever! Jacee got to go to her first real Grama Week with five other cousins. At first it was suppose to be from Sunday to Wednesday, but it somehow got extended to Saturday. I have tried to only call her once a day and not just go sit in her room and pout. I can't wait until she gets home. I have missed, missed, missed her! Love you Sissy! (She hates it when I call her that.)

Not For Sale

Hmmm...Old Navy might have found themselves with a few extra mannequins the other day. I had to convince a few patrons that they were not for sale!
