Palisades

We had a great time at our neighborhood Palisades Camping trip. Here is Jacee with some sort of reptile on her jacket. Even though she is my girlie girl - she doesn't seem to shy away from nature.

Maddie didn't want to swim in the lake at all but was more than willing to hang out in the little boat with daddy.

Jack and Maddie spent most of the time just digging in the rocks and dirt.

Oh What Do You Do In the Summertime?

Summertime is just fun. We love having Jacee home and warm weather and no where to be at a certain time. We love it! I was called into the girl's room today to discover this - a fort! What childhood memories this brings back for me. I love that my kids will have the same kinds of memories I had growing up.

We went to our weekly library day only to discover that Pioneer Party and Copy was doing face painting for Round Up Days. Hooray! They also got tatoos, balloons, and plastic sheriff badges. Score!

Jacee has discovered that she can use the hot glue gun. And I happen to have a HUGE box of Popsicle sticks. Here is just one of their creations - a frame. And what better thing to put in a frame than their faces!

WEPR 2010

Family is What it's All About!

(Jen Brewer is not allowed to read this post or look at any pictures. If anyone knows she is reading this tell her to cease and desist at once!)

As we have been preparing for our Summer of Fun! I have once again been struck by how much I love being with family. We have some reunions planned and get-togethers planned and missionary "farewells" planned and we've had graduation parties and missionary call parties and fast Sunday dessert parties and holiday parties.

John and I have had many struggles - but we feel very blessed to have a large and supportive family. For the most part, we all get along and take care of each other and each other's children and just form a big support group with whatever anyone is going through.

It makes me realize how wonderful that the point of all of this, all that we go through - is to be with family. To have someone to love and support you when you need it and also to give that love and support when another is in need.

Thanks family - we sure love being with you and spending time with you and talking with you and crying with you and laughing with you. We are blessed.

Crazy Hair Day

Jacee had crazy hair day at school - so her dad came home with some hair dye...and of course the other two couldn't be left out! The best part of this whole story - I didn't get a picture of Jacee! Keep in mind - May was kind of a rough month - with me being sick with child and all...so you understand right? I put tiny braids all over her head and then sprayed them pink and glittery. You can imagine how excited I was when she came home and had taken out EVERY braid during the day...I just tried to smile and be a supportive momma and not freak out that it had taken me a looooong time to braid her hair, and then I didn't get a picture so I had been waiting patiently all day for her to get home so we could take a picture. Nope....I just smiled and hugged her and then went and lied down.

Summer Time!

I love summer! I love the sunshine, the watermelon, the bbq, and staying up late chatting with family because no one is worried about crabby kids at school the next day. We've had a great day so far. I have been inspired by my friend Laura's summer schedule. So we made one today!

Everyone got a chore chart and we also decided that everyday we would read our scriptures, have 20 minutes of reading, and have family exercise time (again - thanks Laura). Today we are going swimming.

Jacee likes order and I could tell she was perking up as the charts were printed and the schedule made. Maddie did ok. She did make it through her chore chart - but did not do an extra chore for a quarter. Jack even combed and gelled his own hair!

What a great start to the summer!
