Max - the one-eyed Bandit

Well, we've had Pouncer for a year and all is well so why not add another pet?  We've SAID we've wanted a dog for a long time.  We've even tried out two of John's picking.  Unfortunately they were dogs that needed to be outside on a farm herding animals.  Not so good for us city folk.

I've wanted an inside dog.  I just feel bad for all those dogs left outside, especially in Utah in the WINTER!

Well,  John finally found a dog we could both live with - a Maltipoo.  Small, cute, but not too girly.

He is suppose to be a good companion dog, likes to sleep with the kids, and very smart.

So far he has followed me around all day.  If I've left the room and he didn't notice, he'll whine until I come get him.  Right now he is snuggled up right by me while I type.

So far the kids adore him and have even cleaned up his poop!

Wow, I kinda feel like a real family - I don't even know how to explain that...

Another Year - a BIG Milestone

Maddie - 1st Grade.  All day at school.  School lunch.  Riding the bus with siblings.  Leaving mom all alone.
Jacee - 5th Grade.  Glasses.  Style.  Friends.
Jackson - 3rd grade.  Oldest of the lower grades.  Great Teacher.  Misses mom.
And off they go.  Independent.  On their own in the world.  I miss them.

In Loving Memory of Grama A

I just wanted to put the pictures from Grama's funeral.  We miss her sweet spirit in our home but we are so happy she is free to see and hear and run and dance.  We love you Grama!

The Week of the Non-Trekkers

Our Stake took the Youth on Trek so we were able to have three neighbor kids stay with us for four days.  They are all good friends and each of my children felt like they had a buddy for the week.

First stop - 7 Peaks!
One morning I had to take Jacee to ballroom and I came home to crafting-palooza!

We went to the pool and then hit Paradise Ice afterwards.

One night out on the tramp that ended in a surprise sprinkler wake-up call!
It wasn't all fun and games.  I took advantage of the slave labor and had them pull some weeds.
They did get creamies afterwards so I wasn't all that mean.
We had a bbq at the pool one night and the mosquitoes found our little Maddie - this was a day later and it looks much better.  Needless to say, we busted out the mosquito spray after this!
Because of all the excitement of having friends over - we didn't get to bed very early.  Brennon took a little cat nap on the way to the movie.
Croods - we love this movie!
 Boating, boating and more boating!
What's a get together without a fire pit and s'mores and then night games when it got dark.

 More creamies!
And to top of a great week - rootbeer floats before parents came to pick up the kids.
I'm so grateful my children have good friends to play with, it was a blessing having them in our home.
