Coloring the Afore-mentioned Eggs

Here we are coloring and stuffing the eggs with confetti. As you can see Maddie had more fun coloring herself!

With an ever-ready smile!

I think Jack colored three eggs before he got bored.

New Easter Tradition

One of my friends (Sayda) has such a fun Easter tradition that we thought we would try it this year. Instead of a regular Easter Egg Hunt - you color hollow Easter eggs, fill them with confetti and hide them in the yard. When you find one you get to crack it on someone's head! (More on the actual hunt later...)

Here is Jacee draining the egg out of the shells.

Now she is washing them out with warm soapy water.

Drying them.

Oops - out of order - but cracking an egg.

A nice clean hollow egg ready to color.

Even though it was quite a process - we had a lot of fun doing this together. The best part about most traditions is the anticipation. Thanks for the great idea Sayda!

Dancing Memories

This past weekend was the BYU Ballroom Dance Company's 50th Reunion. It just brought back a flood of memories and thoughts and feelings. That was such a magical time in my life. I worked hard and had a lot of fun. My parent's supported this "hobby" 100% so I was able to do a lot of things and have a great experience. I am so grateful for this. Eventually, dancing even led me to my husband and now we have a wonderful family and are starting the dancing tradition with our children. I have had many phases in dancing - here is the first - dancing as a competitor. My parents came to pretty much every competition I was in - from San Fransisco to Boston. How did I get so lucky to have such great parents?

My Grama Jane (my dad's mom) always said I got my dancing genes from her. She was able to come to many competitions. I think my Aunt was probably my biggest fan after my parents. They always insisted that my trophies be in any pictures they took with me after my comps.

Mom and Dad, I know this is just a drop in the bucket of the things you have done for me but thank you so much for making this period in my life so wonderful. You may take the credit for supporting me not only financially, but mentally and emotionally as well. And let's not forget all those hours of rhine-stoning my dresses. I must say I did work very very hard to get where I did - but you may take credit for that as well - for teaching me to work hard to get what I wanted. I am grateful for my competing years and all the wonderful experiences I had. I am truly blessed to have parent's who let me live the dream!

When I Grow Up...

Things were a little slow after conference and all the Easter festivities. I was in the kitchen when I noticed this sign taped to the stairs.

This was the next sign.

Here is the sign on her bedroom door.

Here is the sign in sheet she made on the computer by herself - I didn't even know she was making it.

Here are her willing clients.

Maddie is trying to show off her painted nails.

Jacee has always wanted to work in a beauty salon. We have had many talks about being the owner vs just working there. Here she is getting a great head start. I also got my hair done and nails painted. She did a great job!

Easter Morn

We had a great Easter. Here are the kids with their Easter Baskets.

Showing off some Easter loot.

Maddie playing outside in freezing weather. She wanted to play and would not be deterred. Grama Mission was beside herself watching her without a coat or shoes.

And last but not least - the delicious chocolate bunny.

I think this face says it all!
