A Funeral for a Fish

Well, it finally happened. Goldie has passed on to a better life. Jacee got two fish when she started kindergarten (frankly John and I are surprised they have lasted this long!) Anyway, when we woke up this morning, Goldie was floating belly up in the tank.

Jacee wanted to bury it herself. She picked the spot, found the shovel, dug the hole...

And plopped Goldie in the hole. After she covered him up she wanted to stand by his grave for a moment. She folded her arms and then started humming the wedding march. I guess it is the most solemn music she could think of at the time.

She is sad, but wants to get another one because she is worried Spotty will be lonely. We'll see...

How terribly sad for your family :( Really how cute is that?!?

Loved the dance pictures too. That must be a blast to go see her perform.

I love the dance pics. Jacee is such a beauty! Poor little fish and what a wonderful little funeral.

poor,poor spotty.

How cute is the Wedding March humming, I hate to admit that has become a popular thing for cousins to hum ever since we got the keyboard with a bunch of demos.

I remember that my first comment was on your fish post. How long ago that seems! :)

Enjoy here silent moment, I must say that with young kids, that could be their last in a LOOONG time.

Hope Spotty's doing OK.
